For no other reason than I simply love this brand and how they operate (I have no affiliation with them whatsoever), I’d like to sneak in a plug for Patagonia yoga clothes. Okay, maybe it’s a bit unfair given that I’ve never actually worn anything from their yoga line but I’m trying to make the connection in order to point out some great things the company does. After all, great ideas are worth sharing. So, in the spirit of yoga…

1) Their yoga apparel is made from a blend of 90% organic cotton and 10% spandex

2) They have an interactive mini site that lets you track the carbon footprint of 10 of their products from design to delivery

3) They have this amazing program called the Common Threads Garment Recycling Program, through which customers can return their worn out Capilene® Performance Baselayers, worn out Patagonia® fleece, Polartec® fleece clothing (from any maker), Patagonia cotton T-shirts, and now some additional polyester and nylon 6 products that come with a Common Threads tag to be recycled into new garments! (Way cool!)

4) They give 1% of sales back to the planet (Hey, it adds up!…$31M to be exact)

5) They blog! Check them out…http://www.thecleanestline.com/

Thought it was worth mentioning for all of you shoppers out there that this is a new addition to their web site and the New York flagship store. According to elle.com, “The company has hired a few New York and Los Angeles-based yoga instructors to wear the brand exclusively and serve as its ambassadors, including Elizabeth Rossa, who owns the Shri Yoga Center in TriBeCa and also models the line” – (it certainly doesn’t hurt that they signed up a particularly beautiful yogi!). Check her out and the line at J.Crew and let me know what you think!
